More pictures of the Bean

Today we had another appointment with the ultrasound machine. We got two more pictures of the Bean and were told that everything was looking good. Bean's heartbeat was 119 b.p.m. today! Tomorrow, we should get an update on Jennifer's (the ultrasound guru) findings and get the results of last week's lab work.

We also got to talk dollars and cents with the financial manager at the doctor's office. We found out that SouthCrest is out of our network, so it looks like we'll be delivering at St. John's. I pray that Michael can keep me calm on the drive to the hospital! ;-) We've gotten an idea of what delivering a kiddo is going to cost. Thank goodness for good insurance!

We're getting super excited--at least I am. I think Michael's approaching this with more caution than I can! It's hard to not tell everyone, but I'd rather wait til the end of the first trimester before letting the cat out of the bag. This is a huge secret to keep! And as most people that know me will attest--I'm not good at keeping my own secrets!

It's real...first pictures!

We ventured to the doctor's office today for a "Confirmation" appointment. We both quickly figured out that the method of "seeing" was going to be interesting. Yep, I had an ultrasound today, but not the one with the probe on the tummy, if you get my drift. Michael reports that it looks like E.T.'s finger...lovely imagery there, huh?

As my Doctor was congratulating us, I looked up at Michael and simply said "It's real."

I'd told both my parents earlier in the day and asked them for prayers that all would be well. I'm thinking the prayers are working.

The "Bean" is the size of a piece of rice and is 5 weeks and 2 days gestationally. Bean's heartbeat was 104 b.p.m. today. We were given a tentative due date of October 7, 2007!

I got sent to the lab to give the vampires blood.

Michael and I said goodbye in the parking lot--I'm off to Dallas for the Affiliate Conference for Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

It's confirmed...at least at home...

I woke up this morning and had to make my requisite trip to the bathroom. I figured I'd collect my sample, use the test and it would confirm that I was just late for my cycle. It didn't! I got two lines!

Michael was sleeping and I didn't want to wake him, but I made some noise around the house and waited for him to stir. He stirred enough that I woke him up to tell him "I peed on the stick" and he said "Oh yeah" and I said "It says yes, we're pregnant" to which he said "We're not pregnant--you're pregnant" and follwed it up with "We don't even know if it's real--you haven't been to the doctor yet".

I went on about my business and called to make a doctor's appointment.
